I'm looking for opinions/feedback on the newly introduced Yes-Essentials seat fabric for 2007 models. I've seen some negative feedback on previous 3rd generation cloth interiors staining easily and proving very difficult to keep clean. Considering purchasing an 07 Sport 2500 w/5. 9 which are difficult to locate with leather seating option.

i wanted leather as well and settled for the yes essential thing intending to just get leather installed later.

i'm a pretty grungy dood and i think mine cleans up pretty easily.

it's nice enough that i'm in no hurry to switch to leather... . it's pretty nice for a cloth interior... ... . still not as nice or as easy to clean as leather though.

i'll probably leave it be until i mess it up somehow.

i'm not hating on my truck because of it if that helps... . if fact i don't give it much thought at all... . which is a good sign imo.

Yes essentials.

I slapped some Marathon seat covers on my '07 cloths with a softer Cordura material. Wish I'd ordered the model covers that come with extra padding though. These cloth seats are a bit firm. Hopefully it'll help keep them from mushing out down the line.

I wanted leather but the 3500 I purchased had premium cloth. I went looking for those famous dive suit material seat covers. Wanted to see them before buying. Did not find them local. I was in Oklohoma City, did not find them there. I remembered looking online into leather seats a year or two before and found a company there I thought may be worth while. Most of there business is mail order, but I was in town and went to see before buying. Liked what they had. Had them make some two tone with embrodery logo for 900$. For another 300$ they installed them and boxed up the originals. LeatherSeats.com was the place. My truck: 06 Megacab. Consoles are covered too. That price was their deluxe, all front serfaces are leather. Factory just gives leather inserts for back seats.

The cloth seats in my 06 are a stained mess and it only is a few months old with 3000 miles. Its because there so light in color. I miss black interiors of the 70s. Is there an easy way to clean them? Simple green seems to just make the stains bigger:{

DBentley, you'll probably have to get 'em steamcleaned.

My truck was 1 month old when my wife at chocolate in it despite my asking her not to eat in the truck. A melted mess in driver seat, size of driver seat, passenger seat. Only fix will be steamcleaning--haven't gotten to it yet.

The 07 seat covers are different from the 06's in a lot of ways, except for looks. The "Yes Essentials" material is synthetic and does not absorb water/liquids that the 06 seats would. Mine have been rained on, spilled on, dirt rubbed in etc. They still look new. Liquids bead on the material, so it is very easy to clean. Dirt can be brushed out with little effort.

Really the only mistake you can make with this material is the application of solvents, cleaners, other stain repellants, etc. If you use water, brushes, and towels to clean messes you should have no problems.
