2007 HVAC Fan Question

I lost HVAC fan position 1 (low) this morning in my 2007. The fan doesn't come on and the AC button will not engage in that position. Everything works well in positions 2, 3, and 4. Any thoughts?

The fan problem sounds like a resistor, but then the A/C button problem along with it sounds like a control head problem. The resistor is cheap so test and or replace it first.

There is a revised part out for the resistor at least for my year with a metal wrap around the ceramic part. Check yours for a crack. Also wiggle test the wires at the resistor and blower motor.

The new one for my '07 is identical to the old one with no metal band around it. I'm not happy that mine didn't come as the upgraded version, but I only paid $13 for it so it isn't that big of a deal.

When I replaced mine I think I paid around fifty bucks for it at dealer

I'm sure it's an off-shore knock off part but it was identical to the original even down to the part # markings.

Without the blower running the AC light will not come on even after you push ON the button.

That is correct. It would not come on without the fan running first. All is working well with the new resistor.
