This is the code on the wifes car. it is saying (P0441 code). It is the purge control solenoid valve, It is a 2. 7 v/6 is there any way i can test it before changing it. thanks for any info.

You shouldn't have to touch it. Hyundai should fix it under the federal emissions warranty. Especially if it cant pass a state inspection. Don't clear the light, and bring it to them. EVAP problems could be a bear. Could be the solenoid electrical failure, could be a leak. The trouble tree EVAP codes are elaborate.

I have a '04 Santa, 2. 7 with 87,500. I replaced the purge valve about 2-years ago, because the car would not start after fill-up. I had no codes, car ran fine. I researched on Hyundai forums, it seemed to be common. Bought the part at the dealer, did it my self, pretty easy, just busy work. If you cannot find the repair on line, I'll dig-up the page and post it on TDR. I hope this helps. I never thought of pursuing it as a emissions warranty... My dealer has been good to us for the minor warranty issues: door cladding, cargo cover not rolling-up, air/heat fan switch.

Change the purge valve 7 day ago. Still no check engine light.

You probably got it. Thing is with OBDII, you have to run that monitor to prove it. Certain cars need a certain pattern to run. Once it does and you don't get a one trip failure, you're good as gold.
