I have a 2007 3500 that I purchased in TN and I live in NM, the problem with the Nav unit is when I search for a name like "Sams Club" it will find ones in the midwest. Is there a option or setting that I have missed to make it search from where the truck is?

I have a Garmin that I have had for several years and I love it!

I own a couple of vehicles with the nav system in it... . to be honest we've never tried to search for stores... . just street addresses... .

I'm guessing the software doesn't have the location your looking for in the data base... pull up the map... and ask the nav system to show store locations and see if the sams club your looking for is on the map... . if not its not in the data base. .

Try different spelling, like Sam's Club, or Sam's Club warehouse, etc. I have found it frustrating sometimes when looking up business names. The ones that got me at first were Costco and Staples. Staples is listed by "Staples, the office super store" or something to that effect. I have a My-Gig in my 300 and it is worse than the 06 NAV. It is very picky about how you enter info, but it has some great features.

If you have an REC unit do the following to change state:

1. Push NAV.

2. Scroll to destination entry.

3. Scroll to street address.

4. Scroll to change state and find your state of choice.

Hope this helps.

I do have the state selected.

I was messing with finding sams club again and the nearest one is 55 miles away. The only way to find it is a direct spelling "sam's club" then it brings up alot of optiions like photo lab, vision center, retail, etc... ...
