Did the 2008 models have an idle up feature where you turn on cruise and hit set and it would idle up to 1000 rpm?

If I remember correctly only the 7.5 trucks with the 6.7L engine had to be dealer enabled. The 08 trucks came from the factory with this feature already enabled. At least that is what I remember from all of the early discussions that were had on the 6.7L engines around that time period.

I know my truck which I purchased in Nov 2007, which was a 2008 model came from the factory with this feature enabled. The dealer where I purchased the truck from was clueless on the features of a diesel engine truck.

The Dealer said some could be and some couldn't. I was thinking a certain pin had to be grounded on the ECM to let the feature be enabled.

There is a pin that has to be grounded and the ECM enabled. It doesn’t matter what order, but it not normally done by the dealer on manuals so that could be why.

The programming option also disappeared on manual trucks along the way. I just can’t remember if it was 2007.5 or 2010.

My 08 G56 i had to ground pin 23 i believe. i could be wrong. then it worked.

So how can I find out for sure which pin to ground, and after I do will all years let the feature be enabled? I want this for cool-down at times when pulling my 40' 5th wheel.

If you have a manual transmission, in the time frame of 2007.5 and 2009 you want to look at some of the older threads that were posted in 2008 or so. I did a search and a couple of the members that use to be on this site have posted about a clutch switch that is required.
You will need to enter in the search field: Idle UP feature" and there are several old threads that should help.
One of them is called: High Idle..>Anything Else See post 8,9 and 10 in this thread. This may help.

Update: Had a chance to play with mine. I have an 07.5 G56 trans, found the green wire and grounded it and it works like a charm! It is VERY tight up there adding to the wire.
Thanks to all who helped me on this.
