Anyone running a 200hp injector with a 62 turbo? Preferably one with a 71mm exhaust wheel. Toasty warm or very controllable?

I'm running 200 sticks with a 64/14. It's kinda warm, but nothing too bad. If you tow real heavy a lot I would reccomend twins or some smaller sticks.

That would be warm for sure. I'd say that a Quick Diesel 64 would be the trick or stepping down to a little smaller stick would be an option as well. A Mach 5 works awesome with the QD64.

I think that if I were gonna run 200hp sticks..... I'd get a 66 super with a LDP wheel. Unless you tow, because it will get awfully toasty before it lights off. The 64 quick diesel would be a good choice, but I think you may get a little hot on top.

200hp sticks and a comp box will be toasty with a 62 turbo. 150hp sticks and a comp box will still get a little warm. 200hp sticks and the comp box on 1 (ez mode), and you will be able to control the EGT's. The question is... Can you leave it on 1?

I have no egt issues towing or otherwise & I tow 15k through mountains daily. Maybe it is the injectors, but I love my II dragon flow 150's. I believe that a 62 super stock is ideal for 150 sticks, but 200's need atleast a 64 super if you want no egt problems. I always run 3x3 on my comp when towing & see 1200 at most on long pulls 5 miles long @ 8% or better.

Just for comparision. I run a set of our 150 EDM's comp on 5x5 with a stock charger and have no real egt issues. I tow daily on 3x3 and can keep the temps in check with a little common sense. Im going to a HTT superstock 62 as soon as I have time to put on in. Everytime I get on in stock someone needs it worse than me:-laf and I end up sending it out.

paul I have no ability to de-tune something when its GO TIME :) I am going to go with something a little different on the sticks and see if it works. The truck makes 480 with a comp, PDR HX40 and a set of Mach 2. 5s right now so I am hoping with a HTT SuperStock 62 and some 150-200ish injectors and I will see that magic 500 number in the truth booth at DDP :D

I dyno'd 510hp uncorrected, with Mach 4's (150hp), drag comp, and a Dodgezilla (35/40 hybrid). Toasty hot though. The SuperStock 62 flows a lot more air then the Dodgezilla does. Just for a comparison... I put the twins on, and with everything else the same, I dyno'd 565hp. The extra air picked up 55hp. Added Mach 6+'s and dyno'd 638hp.

With the auto trans I think you would be very happy with 150hp injectors and the SuperStock 62. Most of the guys you will see that say they don't have heat issues are running manuals.

The 150 injectors are awesome & anything more will make so much smoke that you will get sick of them. I love my Industrial Injection Dragon Flow 150's. They have 10 holes & they even idle smoother than stock. I think Brady has his stuff together with the injectors. They are also cheaper than F1 or DPP etc. The Super Stock turbo is a perfect match for the 150 injectors for towing or playing with the ricers.

I have a 5spd so I think I will be ok with the 150s but it might be a little touchy with the 200s so I am going to figure it out the morning of the install and hope I chose right. I do not like laggy turbos so anything bigger than the super stock wasn't really an option for me :D

Gets a little warm for me on mine but still not bad driving at all, just have to light foot it till I get some boost to keep from killing all the bugs in the city.

I think that you'll be happy with 150's & the super stock 62 will work perfect. Good Luck.

the truck has Mach 2. 5s in it right now and I just drove the truck home after getting the Super Stock 62 put on. That is the quickest lighting single I have ever encountered! It also doesnt hit real hard like the bigger turbos it just sets you back in your seat and keeps pulling like a set of twins. Awesome turbo!

Update:

Lenny from DDP and I talked about what I wanted to do and ended up going with a test set of sticks for now they are for all intents and purposes a Stage 3 DDP injector (110hp). I went from the Mach 2. 5(supposed to be 110hp) in the truck at 460hp and with the new sticks the truck made 490hp. I lost almost 200 degrees of EGT when cruising unloaded and the smoke is almost unnoticeable with the box on anything under level 4. The truck makes about 450 degrees when you are just cruising. :D
