That is exactly why I asked the question, I guess the possibility exists that the engine with a simple flash could gain better performance and then have after treatment that made what was coming out the tailpipe be a cleaner product--kinda a win win situation---but I never did inhale either

Steve St. Laurent, i guess i was misled by Dodges advertising, at no time did they mention that the C & C 6. 7 didn't meet 2010 standards all they advertised was how the 6. 7 did meet the 2010 standards.

the average dodge truck owner probably was misled as i was, thanks for all of the info.

This was on the dodge website for the 09 C&C trucks. When the 07 C&C's came out they only advertised meeting the 07 emission standards.

Jobsite idling

Dodge Ram 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cabs have low enough emissions that they can idle indefinitely at a jobsite, letting you use their HVAC and electrical features. This is because Dodge Ram 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cabs meet the 2008 Air Resource Board's state diesel emissions standards for medium-duty trucks (which includes CA, CT, DE, GA, ME, NJ, NY, NC, PA and TX). So you can let your truck idle while Ford and GM owners have to automatically shut down after idling five minutes or risk fines in these states.

Nyc

I can see someone trying to explain to a NYC cop in Manhattan that his truck is a Dodge with the CTD and it is ok to idle the engine past 5 minutes. Yeah right !!!!:-laf
