Hybrid Tahoe Problem

05 Merc Gran Marquise

My brother just aquired a 2010 4. 6 5spd with 18k on the odo, from DSM for 22k.

The car is very nice and appears completely factory, being a die hard hotrodder he already is thinking about aftermarket exhaust and intakes. I was looking at American Muscle's website and found Flowmaster's axleback American Thunder Classic(series 40 mufflers), and an Airaid cold air intake that doesn't require a download to the ECM for it to work correctly. Around $900. for the two kits. I have had experience with the series 40 Flowmasters on a couple of vehicles and really liked their tone, the same exhaust system for his Mustang with series 60 mufflers are almost $200. less?

My question for you Folks is... is there a better website for Mustang Accessories, and/or can you maybe recommend other brands that are comparable? Also, and this will be the most difficult task, is there a Mustang forum that has the integrity that TDR possesses, or at least maybe close? My brother does not have the internet, doesn't even own any type of computer, so I'm just trying to keep him on the right track, if he insists on these changes. I drove the car, seems pretty cool to me just the way it sets.

TIA, Jess

Check out AllFordMustangs. there is a lot of good info and a lot of knowledgeable Mustang guys. There are a few hot heads but that's to be expected on a website full of gear heads... :D

I came across them several years ago when I bought a lightly wrecked 98 GT for next to nothing and was going through the rear suspension. They also helped me work through my junk yard turbo conversion. Lots of good info to sift through.
