I received a recall for my 2010 Ram 2500 which involved replacing the cap on the brake fluid resevoir. Stated that pressure building up in the resevoir due to the existing cap was causing brake lights to not turn off after the brake pedal was released. Dealer installed the new resevoir cap.

Mine was for thr power steering cap. Supposedly the Hydrboost will build the pressure that keeps the brake lights on.

I called about the K33 recall (Brake fluid reservoir cap) and was told of the K34 recall (Re-program the ECM). The K34 recall was dated Feb. 2, 2011. It was so new that the notices were not mailed yet. I had the K34 re-program completed. They are sending me the brake fluid cap.

Was just looking over the recall, it's the K33 recall but it's for the power steering reservoir cap? Supposed to have one on the way to me.

The PS cap switch now shuts down the brake lights right away. They use to stay on for about 2 seconds after releasing the pedal. That was probably messing with my trailer brakes... .

I hadn't thought of that. Seems my trailer brakes were staying on when starting from a stop. Can't wait to hook up and see if there's a difference now.

Took mine in to get oil changed ($60 special) and get the ps fluid cap. Half a day later I'm frustrated and nothing has been done!

They didn't have the ps caps, told the service manager I'd just order it and he said you can't do that. So I told him I'd order it anyways and left it there for them to change the oil.

Came back after work and the service manager says they changed the oil but need to address a TSB that involves dropping the tank to inspect it, and they want to keep it for another day. So I said okay, but my wife didn't want to come back to pick me up (service manager said it was ready before she left) so I decided to take the truck. Service manager was gone, so one of the other guys tried to help, but couldn't find the truck in the computer. He grabs the service manager who flatly says that they didn't do the oil yet b/c they were waiting to do the TSB! #@$%!

Needless to say the truck will not be going back. I can't find TSBs for the 2011 models anywhere, so I can't look into this mysterious TSB that requires dropping the tank.

No wonder dealerships have such terrible reputations for service!

Fleetgaurd filters and a 5 gallon pale of Shell Rotella oil. Do it at home, atleast you know it'll be done right!

I've already changed dealers once, because they wanted to keep my truck overnight and wouldn't give me a loaner vehicle, or even a ride home! (I'm a single dad and live in the country) So I went across town to the other dealership and said do you offer loaners? I need some work done and my parts are across town at the other dealership. So, you could re-order the parts, or call them and pick them up. Funny thing is, they picked them up and i never heard from the first dealership again! The parts had to be replaced were the center arm rest in the back and the rear fender flares that were peeling off, I tell ya, some dealerships just don't go the extra mile for customer satisfaction! :D
