2011 02 sensor problems

I have a 2011 Ram CTD I have had the check engine light come on several times. They have cleaned soot out of the 02 sensor twice in the last 5 weeks.

They are ordering a new type of sensor to see if they can fix the problem. Is this a common issue with the 2011?

I don't think anyone has posted a similar complaint.

I will be surprised if the 2011 is using different components than earlier ISB6. 7s. The body of a 2011 is very different. I didn't think the engine and drive train was different.

The mechanic had to get permission to order the new style sensor. The part was on back order which raised a flag that this might be an issue. The mechanic also stated he put the new sensor in a couple other trucks and it resolved the issue.

We have been seeing a few problems with the O2 sensors on the 2011 pick-ups, The O2 sensors that are on the 2010 and 2011 pick-ups are the same as 2007. 5 to 2009 trucks. This leads me to believe that the problem is not with the o2 sensors but a ECM programing issue. But the sensors are on back order and difficult to get right now and usally when we see a back order of this size it means that there is probably a new design change, but at this time I do not know of any new sensors coming.
