Hey Guys,,have had some vibration in front end,put it up on lift....play in both front wheel bearings,,,confirmed that ball joints are tight,,,,,of course warranty expired at 36,000 for these,....not happy about no warranty coverage but that's another story...my question is....Which hub bearing assembly is hands down, the best quality to replace the pens with?

Not interested in converting to free wheeling hubs, just want to get new bearings..... Thanks

I put spyn tec hubs on my 2016 3500 4x4 drw. at 8000 miles. don't know if my hubs will fit your truck or not.but I would make you a deal if they will.

38k sure seems to be premature for bearing failure. Is the truck lifted with off set wheels? Has it been submerged in water? I think most of the front bearings are lasting at least 100k.

There are 5 of us here at work that have Ram 2500 4x4 CTD trucks. Four of us have 2016's, one 2015.

My boss just went to a tire place to get new tires on his 2016 and they said his front wheel bearings were sloppy at 45,000 miles. We just checked them and sure enough, there is slop when you grab the tire at 12 & 6 o'clock and try to wiggle the tire, IT MOVES SOME. My 2016 is my 3rd Ram since 1995 but I'm starting to wonder about these trucks.....

The front bearings are sealed and the entire assembly will be needed for OEM replacement. Dyna Trac or Spyn hubs are the best replacement for them. They are expensive for the initial install, but are serviceable from that point on, and you can disengage them from the front axle allowing you to use 4 wheel low when backing up heavy trailers. of coarse it has to be a 4X4 for 4 wheel low.

You can get some wheel bearing play on the front end of a brand new truck. This has been talked about before on here. I had a set replaced for no reason and the replacements had just as much play as the 25k mile units that were replaced. Run it!
