2011 HO tc lock-up

I have read that the 68re tc locks up in 4th gear but, it feels like there is a lock-up in 3rd. This is my first auto so I'm not sure. My thought is maybe the trans locks now in 3rd to help with ebrake and the HO engine. Eventhough I don't have the Max tow, is it possible I have the trans? Any thoughts? Thanks Mark.

When the Exhaust Brake is on, the converter will lock up, if it didn't the EB wouldn't work

The only gear the transmission -doesnt- lock up in would be 1st gear. If you manually select 2nd, and rev it up, you will feel the lockup. . then after a certain higher RPM range, the TC will unlock to protect itself. It will also lock under certain conditions during deceleration, in 2nd, using the EB.
