Need dealer to turn on TPMS

2012 Dodge 2500 with 6.7. Have dpf delete kit and H S Programer. Truck was running fine then turned off. Once it was started heavy black smoke rolled out of exhaust and truck wouldn't go over 1500 rpms. Restarted truck again and it ran normal. Truck went to dealer and they said it was a broken line connected to turbo. Line got fixed and now they say its a bad turbo. covered under warranty.. called back and said its not covered under warranty per service mgr 10hrs later. My point to this is, Dealer stated EGR wasnt connected to that was the problem!! Thus, not covered! I even purchased the extended warranty!! truck has 48,000 miles. Anybody know if this is covered or not??

Seems to me that since the emissions are deleted its an emission warranty that isnt covered, not a turbo!

Need some good information so i can argue with dealer!!.. also noticed on the forms there is quite a bit of turbo failures on the 6.7 . and a drill, tap and clean as a fix per Chrysler is there answer... wonder if anybody has the update number for this fix??

Suggestions on new turbo set up for towing??

Sorry to give you bad news, but quite simply, your H&S programmer and dpf delete have voided your engine warranty from Chrysler AND Cummins. Likely from now on out, your truck will be flagged in the Chrysler warranty system. There may be people who tell you that under the Magnusson warranty act, the dealer will have to prove that your modifications cuased the problems, but that will not be hard for them to do since they have lawyers and experts who can testify to that. Rule #1 in the aftermarket engine modification game is that you PAY to PLAY. You played, now you are going to pay, NOT Chrysler.

The tuner is what killed your engine warranty, you altered the factory engine performance parameters. Find a commercial diesel repair facility that does Cummins engines, and it will be less expensive than having the dealer do the repair.

You paid for an extended warranty and then deleted and bombed your engine? Ummm....OK - your pocketbook and your decision. At this point, though, that extended warranty is money down the drain.

Every time I read these threads I paste this same reply over and over: Maybe I can clear this UP, GM All makers Must meet the certification REQUIRED by Federal Law. The instant YOU delete ON/OFF road use (The only exception to this law is Race or off road competition) GM/Ram/Ford or your Dealer (any) cannot (legally) even repair the Vehicle if its has State Plates.
Enforcement is the issue, Many times action is NOT taken when the warranty is voided, This is the parties involved discretion, MAKE NO mistake YOUR warranty is voided the instant you make defeat or delete steps to any component thats needed to meet the certification.
Enforcement is the major part of any Law, if No enforcement then its a statement, if the parties involved decided to enforce the law it is now binding and absolute.

You warranty cannot be Voided on all component's that have NO bridge or connection, Example NEW radio cannot void suspension components, but it sure can void ALL electronic communications. Enforcement is the key Part of any law or warranty. When disagreement's arise they are generally decide By arbitration or Judge

The turbo is part of the emission warranty, and the Clean out plug already exists on your 2012. The clean out ports were OEM after 2008, I believe the 2009 on Turbo's had the clean out port from the factory. More than likely, your truck has been black listed.

If you go to a different shop make certain that they have the software that can communicate with Chrysler products and can calibrate the new turbo when it is put on the truck (voice of experience after getting burned). The dealership should be able to get a remanufactured turbo for close to the same money as an outside shop.

Got a really dumb question? DPF diesel particulate filter/smog system etc. I have no intention of doing this , but am wondering what the benefits of a delete kit are? I looked it up but its not clear and didnt pay much attention till this post.

Lots better MPG and power etc? Like I said, mine runs fine etc not doing this.

Slightly better MPG, and a better running & stronger CTD, but unfortunately I'm in a restrictive State so I can't delete, unless I want to pay big bucks in fines and restoring my Emissions system back to stock, that is if California doesn't confiscate it and destroy it at my peril.

This is fact. My combo is 28K with 3:42 gears I tow border to border on I-5 at no less than 55 mph. That in my opinion is awesome performance right out of the box even without 4:10's like it should have. 9.5 hand calc towing averaged over many tanks.

I can only imagine what my new 15 with air ride rear suspension and 385/850 power and 4:10's will do!

Hook up hop in and drive!

One thing that helps the stock trucks and doesn't eliminate any emissions equipment is to wrap the exhaust pipe from the turbo to the DPF chamber. This helps hold in the heat and will lesson the regens.

as others have said. You are now your own warranty station.
I would also get rid of the H&S and go with something by MADS as they don't seem to be as detrimental to parts as the H&S appears to be. On the Ford forums, seems many of the guys having turbo failures have H&S products on their trucks as well.

It seems that the big reason people deleted the smog stuff on 2007.5--2012 Rams was fuel mileage. On 2013-14s, that reason no longer exists, imo.
