2012 grid heaters

Hello all! My first post here. New to the 4g cummins engine, but NOT new to Cummins (used to have a 91). I just bought this truck toady. It has a Sinister EGR/DPF delete. When I started it this morning, cold, the grids did not come on, even though the wait light did, but only for about 1 or 2 seconds. It was 43 degrees. In my experience it's supposed to preheat for a about 7 seconds or so. Would this be because the grids might have been deleted? I can't tell if they are or not and I'm not even sure what cable to look for that would power them. Bought it from a dealership so of course they know nothing about it. Thanks in advance!*

What state allows dealers to sell deleted trucks?
The heater grid cables are routed to the grid under the intake plate

Actually, quite a few...I have found them all over the place in various states at various dealers. Thanks for the info, I'll take a look.*

I think there is a solenoid on passenger battery base. Power cable should go from positive through solenoid and over to grid heater. Short cycle sounds like heater was deleted since computer didn't see voltage drop.

On my 08 which still has the grid heaters on the truck at 43F the wait to start is less than 3 sec's. Even in super cold weather say under 0F the wait to start is not very long less than 5sec's on my truck. What is the current draw on the gage when the ignition is engaged to start the truck does it show a draw of power? If it does than you grid heaters are working.

Curious myself.

It's actually against the law for a dealer to sell it deleted.

I actually found cables you guys mentioned and found that it's the stock intake heater. It preheated normally yesterday morning and this morning. Turns out the dealer had it running before I got there so the head temp was over the minimum 66 degrees. Works as advertised, thanks everyone!*
