2012 verses 13' and up

Hey guys looking at buying new used truck . Bob4X4 suggest I buy 13 and up as the SCR system is better than the old smog system. I see the problems the DEF causes. the has the high output and assume I can find one with the Aisin. Your thoughts?

if you plan to run the truck stock, 13+ gets better mpg and tends to have fewer emissions troubles. if you plan to delete, go 10-12 as there is less equipment to remove.

2015 seems to be the year with least amount of issues overall. This applies to trucks newer than that also.

2013 up series is almost completely different from 2012-back. Much less trouble from emissions, better power, frame, brakes, load capacity. Before 2013, the Aisin was the 68 series and only in chassis cabs. 2013 up the Aisin is the stronger, improved 69 series and available on 3500 pickups as well as the chassis cabs. I had planned to keep my early 2004 "forever" until the 2013 came out, huge improvements.

It's been very trouble free, other than recalls I have only had a console light assembly go bad and that was handled under warranty.
