Thanks JHenderson. *The truck in my signature is on order to be delivered in a couple of weeks. *I'm trying to decide on a new stabilizer, with a new bracket, hence the need to know the diameter of the tie rod. *

With the stock tires and suspension there is no need to add a new stabilizer and may complicate warranty service. If you are upgrading suspension any company worth their salt will not need any part measurements.

Just drive the darn thing! *They have made these to where we don't have to do a darn thing right out of the box! *NICE!

I'm at 222,978 miles on all OEM front end parts......no need to re-invent the wheel. These front suspensions are durable.

I've heard the same thing said about 2nd gen Ram front ends..................boy have things gotten better for them and yet they still stuck compared to the new trucks. If someone makes a better design, by all means use it.

The newer trucks have diffrent linkage than the older 4th Gen trucks. The newer ones are even more like the Ford super duty's. The passenger side steering knuckle has two tierod mounting arms the upper is for the drag link the lower is for the cross link. The Drag link does not connect to the cross link like on the 08-14 trucks. with this system there is way less chance of deflection (the bending of the cross link) when the wheel is turned. I like the set up and will be looking into up grading my truck when my tierod ends fail.
I agree with the above statement Just drive you'r new truck. They have come a long way from the Gen2 trucks. When the stock shocks and steeering damper fail go with Bilsteins. No need for special mounting brackets as they fit. you'll be very happy with the ride with the new shocks.
