2013 DEF Emergency

[Fear This: Cummins!!]

I have a 2013 DRW with 1550 miles. We are leaving for Camp with the 38 foot camper. Today on my way home from work, the dash displayed something like:

DEF system needs service



DEF tank is just below half full. Am I safe to make a 3 hour trip to camp and 3 hours back? Please advise!!

I heard there is a flash to fix false DEF warnings. Call your dealer.

This is the sticker from when mine was completed. Supposedly had several emissions upgrades including the DEF system, along with some transmission stuff.
