had a severe death wobble at 27,000 miles. replaced 4 ball joints, 2 had easy to find slop, replaced damper, track bar, complete drag link, pitman arm and steering box, then steering box again 20,000 miles later. the truck has had 2 shakes ever since that death wobble event at 27k. it now has 103k on the clock and Id like to get rid of the shaking. or at least give this another try lol.
So here's the deal: suspension related shake that feels like a loose part or rapid undamped shake after hitting even a small bump. this almost feels as if someone didn't fully tighten a top shock bolt and left an inch between the rubber washers.
Second shake which may or may not be related: Highway speed 70 - 80 mph the truck and passenger seat shake pretty aggressively. no noticeable shake at lower speed and it pretty much goes away if you find its happy speeds in between.
I have had three completely different sets of tires and wheels on the truck, all Road force balanced and all good quality Michelin and such. the wheel tire set has had no impact on either of the shakes.
Also most of front end is new and the truck is pretty tight again. Maybe I am missing a torn rubber bushing or something on one of the arms? Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

My last death wobble truck was a 2008 1500 Megacab (8 lug axles) and the front end of that truck was updated with the newest tie rod assembly and wobble still occurred. The ultimate fix was a leveling kit from KORE.

Had one truck that developed the death wobble after the steering linkage was replaced under a recall. WS an 08 update kit that was recalled. I found the dealer shop had set the toe in at almost 7/16”. It should be between 1/16”- 1/8” max. Re set the toe in and the truck drove for over 100k miles without an issue.

thanks, Just to be clear, there is no hint or even approach too death wobble since making the entire front end very tight again. I left the death wobble behind about 70,000 miles ago. But the two shakes it has had ever since, I believe could be damage from that severe highway death wobble event. I have owned more jeeps than I can remember and I have never experienced death wobble as severe as this Ram gave me.
I spent a thousand on cameras last time I got after this, And I found many things. But got tired of trying to figure these shakes out and just drove it shaking most of its life. If anyone can help me get after this, I know its probably this crowd.

On the 1st one, did you change shocks to a good set? Is it levelled?

The 2nd one sounds like a vibe not a shake. That may be in the rear DS if it is cyclic and you can find a sweet spot where it doesn't happen.

Your post has been out a long time now, but this could possibly help another…
I threw money at the dreaded death wobble (2011 3500 CTD, 4x4, 6 speed, LWB). Tried everything from leveling kit, steering box, single shock stabilizer, dual shock stabilizer, new Bilstein shocks, even a recommended 4” lift. Nothing truly fixed the issue although it had brought it under control, until… #@*&$%!! Out of town working and it came back worse than ever.
Limped it to a shop someone recommended.
It turned out to be an out of round sloppy hole where the through bolt fixes the drag link to the axle on the passenger side.
I still have the truck. Only 132k - now I'm chasing a random, sometimes worse than other times, vibration between 60 to anybody’s guess. Run her up to 85 and she’s smooth as a lake early in the morning.
Replaced U-joints/carrier bearing. Maybe it’s the wheels or tires. Who knows?
