I asked in another thread that mentioned a Reflash but evidently techs didn't see it, so here goes again.

Can somebody tell me what the Reflash does for the 2013?

Average highway use with some mixed towing thrown in, how long "should" a tank of DEF last?

I realize there are a lot of variables, but I am driving the truck the same way I drive my Duramax and it is using over twice the amount of DEF. is that normal?

I also feel a slight "surging" at light throttle settings on the highway and in town. Does the Reflash address that?

Thanks!

I asked the service writer at a dealer when i was traveling, but he had absolutely no clue. This was also the same guy who explained DEF is what cleans the DPF and the truck no longer uses diesel to regen, it uses DEF. so evidently my truck needed to regen a lot since it used so much DEF. I let him go on for a minute and asked why my truck would need to regen a lot when it has only been driven for long highway trips and some of it was towing trailers? He said he wasn't sure, some trucks are different than others. Then he proceeded to tell another couple how the truck has a compression brake just like a semi does. At that point I gave up and left.

I'm not 100% sure but I think one of the flashes has to do with the transmission shifting. The 13 that I just picked up drove very different when I test drove it than it does after I picked it up. The engine rpm does not surge up as much when it shifts.
