Transmission fluid change kit, best place to buy?

68 rfe fluid and filter change

I have a 2014 Ram cab and chassis 3500 with approx. 70,000 miles....just bought it and noticed that it is using a lil oil (seems to be down a quart after a couple thousand miles)........I have put it on a lift and find no leaks whatsoever,..tried to run it a lil hard to make it smoke, but no smoke other than one puff of dark black when you accelerate hard..................is this normal?...or what should I look for? (I've had and worked on many cars and trucks over the years, but this is first diesel)

It must be deleted and/or programmed-chipped to get any black smoke out of it. I had a 2009 Ram 4500 C&C and have a 2017 Ram 5500 and no black smoke... fine gray ash on inside tailpipe. If its got 70K miles on it, the crankcase oil ventilation filter could be clogging, although I'm not 100% sure it causes blowby.

Check the CCV filter and see if it needs replaced. If it is deleted could be broken rings from a bad tune, or, a turbo issue. A quart every couple thousand miles is probably with the typical usage as specified by Cummins, find that spec and it will tell you if you need to dig deeper.
