This says "best in class Diesel oil change intervals up to 15,000 miles".

There aint NO WAY i would go 15k miles between oil changes!

I can't find the rear axle weight ratings for the 3500, either with or without the new air suspension. Did I miss it? Ken Irwin

PS Thanks JHawes for posting this!

I was looking for that too. And what gear ratios give the GVW of 14k. I need the 14k GVW since we haul a Truck Camper, but I don't need the 4.10s for towing a 29K trailer.....

Class 8 trucks are 40,000 - 50,000 miles between oil changes, and they run 500,000 - 1,000,000 miles before rebuild.

I too need 14,000 GVWR. The way I read the chart, the 14,000 lb. GVWR on a DRW is the same with all axle ratios. However, axle ratios do affect the GCWR. Since I don't tow anything, I'm seriously considering a 3.42 for better fuel economy. My current truck is able to slowly gain speed on a 6% grade in Overdrive with no head wind hauling my Lance. With a much higher torque rating, a new truck should be even better on grades hauling my camper. I'll probably have to use 5th instead of 6th gear. I have no desire to go up a grade at 80-mph.:-laf

I have a tough time running oil that long myself. But when I started sending samples off for my 04.5, I almost couldn't beleive that I kept getting the okay to keep on trucking with the same oil.

I went form 5k intervals to 10k and the last year of ownership, I was stretching it out to 12k because the samples came back good.

I have a 15 liter and change the oil at 25000 and that can be streched out to 30 if not in severe ser. If Cummins says 15000 believe me go the distance and not waste your money . Get an oil analisys and you will see how much oil life was left by the tbn #

If you look at the same engine (6.7) in a farm tractor application the reccomended oil change is 250 hours. Do the math compared to your truck..

On my 98 12V I ran 5K changed filter and dumped at 10K then sent in sample. Blackstone said to run 13K next sample. AMZ/OIL 15-40 non LE.

It's not the same engine, but my new Kubota tractor with a common rail turbocharged Tier 4 diesel engine has 400 hour oil change intervals after the initial required 50-hour engine oil and filter change. My old Kubota non-emission engine had oil change intervals at 100 hours. Tractor engines run in a much more harsh environment than trucks.

I beg to differ. The basic engine, block, crank, pistons, rods, head is all the same in almost all industrial or agricultural applications
Again a250 hour oil change was recommended with the early 6.7s. The most current engines are at least 100hours more
