Just purchased a 2015 RAM, Are there any known problems I should watch for?
Thanks for the quick response! You are correct, but this was an emotional buy, I thought there was a problem with the DEF system, may have been from a different year!HAAAAAA , I love these posts.
Wouldn’t it be better to ask before buying???
ok now that I have given you a bad time! I think 2015 is one of the most dependable years.
I had something go bad with a console light and a front seal. That’s it in 70k other than the recalls.
Check with your local dealer to make sure all updates and recalls have been done.
Congrats!
Fill in your public signature like you see at the bottom of this post.
On edit where the HE!! Is my public signature???
If you are on a phone you have to turn sideways to see Sig's.
The phone that is. Not your head![]()
If the DEF system takes a dump it can destroy to the DPF
Head gasketHG ?
As far as "known" problems: at least a half dozen recalls, plus leaking 3rd brake light.Just purchased a 2015 RAM, Are there any known problems I should watch for?
I thought the plastic in the transmission was only in the 1500. Guess i was wrongAuto transmission has some flaky plastic parts that can cause issue. Abuse of the transmission; burnouts, rocking when stuck, etc., is guaranteed to drain your wallet a good chunk.
HG issues still exist, especially not doing tuning correctly. HE3512VE is the redheaded step child on the IS series Cummins engines, likes to clog with soot from EGR and stoich rich tuning.
I just read the posts here and can’t think of very many head gasket issues with stock trucks....
Lose an injector and see how long the HG lasts with extended cylinder pressures, stock or not. Disconnect the EGR and use it hard, it has some detrimental effects. Then there is the grid heater burning the mounting bolt off and dropping it into a cylinder.
Like I said, the more one knows the further ahead they are.
