My FIL told me to either come and get this truck or he's selling it.

My question is since Indiana has NO vehicle inspections before, during or after ownership can the Exhaust Afterburner System be completely removed SUCCESSFULLY!! without any trace of its existence?

The truck was the high end model and really a nice truck, except for the times it left me stranded on the road in Montana usallly without warning or cell service which really sucked in the winter as you CAN'T IMAGINE

A little more elaboration on the problem at hand would help.

As far as trace of its existence.......anyone with one or more working eyes could ascertain that there’s components missing when deleted.......as a rule.

Big,
Il does not do diesel emission testing in the entire state either, just gas engines in 6 Il counties around Chicago and a couple of counties near East St Louis. My son has a 2013.5 3500 Crew Cab that is running EFI live and a deleted exhaust system. No inspection required for emissions on his truck.
I would contact EFI Live and see what they have to offer you on a 5500 C&C truck.

EFI does not, as of yet, have the program available for 2016 MY of any Cummins Ram truck. However contact the local EFI programer in your area, which is getting harder to do. A shop here in Las Vegas doesn't advertise they have EFI programing, but will work with you. So you have to do your home work. ATP where I purchased my EFILive for my 07 C&C W/O delete, isn't doing EFILive unless its registered for offroad only, so it seems.

Big, isnt the C&C your FIL bought, a 2015/2016 MY?

Ill try and answer all these in one BIG statement

When I said NO TRACE I should have said that I don't want any dash lights telling me that I need DEF or Regen time. I can't stand warning lights to begin with I won't tolerate a light for something that isn't there.

As far as Indiana they have no inspections of ANY KIND!!! Im not gripping I LOVE THE IDEA THAT THEY (COPS) LEAVE YOU ALONE UNLESS YOUR ACTING LIKE AN XXX HOLE. So much so that I registered my Motor Home & Dodge pickup without them even being at the BMV (not DMV) the girl at the Greencastle BMV said we look honest enough and took the VIN #'s off our Montana paperwork

Im having an argument with the wife about the year Im pretty sure that its a 2016 that my Father-in-law & his buddies bought for me to use in 2015

Thanks for the info, I'm not looking to have more power but with the programmer mounted on the dash it would be tempting to play around. Looking at the websites it seems theres more to it than getting a new exhaust system, Im not into the technical aspect of todays vehicles & didn't think that the transmission would need to be addressed. Going to Montana to hunt and will bring it back then.

Thanks BIG

I’ve read good things about a company called Calibrated Power. They use a device known as MM3 to load the needed programming. Just another option.

Big, If the Race Me tuner is similar to the Smarty S67 than that is not placed on the dash. You load in the program into the ECM and set your parameters that you want such HP, TQ, and timing to name a few. You than put the tuner away until you want to update.
I haven't updated my Smarty program since Nov 2010. I still am running ME23 with 60 HP 120TQ added to the rear wheels. I have been happy with this program and see no need to update the ECM. But, I could be wrong on the Race Me tuner.

Addressing the trans with hp increases will be problematic on a 5500. None of the aftermarket providers have been able to crack the programming code on the Aisin trans. However, these Aisin trans seem to do just fine with very mild hp increases and limited torque management alterations. That’s one of the reasons I mentioned Calibrated Power. They advertise specialized tuning for stock power levels with deleted emissions tunes.

My foot isn't heavy as a rule, although with Lucas Oil Drag strip not far away & on Friday nights Danville IN turns in to "American Graffiti" when people of all ages open the barn doors and roll out some pretty strong sounding mussel car era cars to rumble through town, Penny said that I need to get one running. The truck will be used to run around town to the feed store & occasional trip to the forests with the mules to see some local scenery, as compared to the Rocky's this is FLAT LAND

I also contacted Double R Diesel and they have a tune and pipes for the cab/chassis but it is only a delete tune that adds no power. It is about the same price as the "Race Me" one I linked above. I doubt I will ever really need any added power but it would be nice to have it if I wanted to "play" a little. I am not really worried abou the transmission since it is the Aisin that is used in the much more powerful 3500 pickup bed trucks and the cab/chassis trucks are de tuned anyway.

I wouldn't worry about the Aisin holding power. I had an 09 4500 C&C had tune set on level 5, adding 90HP and 180Lb ft TQ. I had it on for 65K miles, 90% towing 20K lbs. Had the dealer check transmission during fluid change and it did not show signs of wear. the 6.7L really liked not having EGR and DPF too. And that was with the AS68RC was rated 730Lb ft and I understand the AS69RC rated over a 1000lb ft /TQ. Cheers, Ron
