Got another project

Performance/Muscle cars. New vs. Old. What is your opinion?

Yesterday I was driving down to Sacramento on HW 50 West from Folsom and spotted the 2016 Nissan XD with the 5.0 L. V8. I read a couple weeks ago they were in the final stages of Testing. are they our for sale? I tried waving to the guy but he didnt notice me. Is TDR going to someday even add a forum and welcome the Titans to TDR

Ive yet to see any new Titans yet. I did recently see my first Colorado/DMax in the wild. We were walking into a restaurant at lunch and the owner happened to be walking out. We struck up a conversation for a moment, his initial impressions of the engine were positive but fit and finish on the truck were subpar. He was scheduled to take it back that week for a respray as the drivers doors and cab were very blotchy looking. Never seen such a paint job from the factory. He also pointed out some of the gaps in the panels and how misaligned they were. I wouldn't have noticed any of it walking by but on closer inspection the truck literally looked like a back yard body shop had thrown it together after a half arsed spray job.

I've seen a few in town, just saw one at a restaurant today. I'm not a fan of the body style, particularly the front end/grille. I just look at it as "the one that got away" for Dodge...err...Ram. That said, they don't seem to be flying off the dealer lots.

This town is wall to wall pickups, and I have yet to see one. There aren't many Ecodiesels around either, but there are a few.

I saw a few on a lot in Delaware back in April, saw one working in a RV campground in Pigeon Forge in July. Do NOT like the nose- looks like a 6.4 Ford that's water bloated with the fender grilles n stuff. I do see EcoDiesels around.

I've read where the Nissans are under powered. Wonder when a tuner will come out? Probably not too soon based on the lousy sales.

They were available back in Febuary and were supposed to have been in late 2015. I know because I wanted to buy one. The reason I believe you don't see many, and the reason I ended up with a Tacoma, is they only have high end expensive models and they are already pricey. The lowest price I could find was in the mid $50k's with the platinum @ 65K. You can buy a well equipped 2500 CTD for less.

I didn't think so, and I owned an 04.5 CTD, which is the same HP/TQ. I loved the power and feel of the truck and would have bought one, if it hadn't been to expensive. The one I test drove was $52K, my Tacoma was $35K.

Drove a 4×2. nice ride.comfortable. Not impressed with the power. felt way underpower with traction control off on or in tow. maybe the programmers can bump it up. slightest movement of the pedal caused it to down shift. with the torque they claim it should pull much harder...

I drove one when they first came out last spring. It wasn't bad, but not overly impressive either.

Just talked to a Nissan sales rep, and he said the XD is not selling as they hoped for, and now have gone back to stocking gassers. They had 10 of the XD's on the lot and all showed a $7000.00 rebate, he went on to say that if you push it, they'll go to $10K. But none of them were under 53K, and the one 4X4 was $61K. FWIW, the gassers were not much cheaper at $47K.
