Since I was installing the condenser guard, I figured that since the grille would be off I would install the Quick Grille Release Kit https://www.genosgarage.com/product/qgkt/grilles. Problem is they haven't updated the instructions to include the 2016 changes Ram has made in the mounting points.

First thing is they have changed the type of screws to two coarse and two fine threads, and not four longer coarse threaded bolts.
Here is the bottom Plastic finger and plastic fastener one each side, not four metal clips

The middle fastener is the same type

I did remove the two bottom fasteners, and left the middle ones in place. The two L shaped plastic fingers still fit into the mounts at the bottom. The install of of the pins and cables went as described, just make sure that you aren't installing the self drill tapping screws are being driven into wire harnesses or tubing.
I will have to retake the pic;s of the pis and cables, Since the internet has swallowed them up and refuses to give them back. So far in about 400 plus miles on pot hole highways around here the grille has rattled or come loose.
It is a small thing with the instructions but it can give somebody fits looking for the two other screws or metal clips on the bottom.
I am very happy with this product and the ease of installation.

I want to buy this, but I have fear the grill will rattle afterwards. Does it stay tight?

I have to say yes now understand that I left the two plastic fasteners in that are half way down. those L shaped fingers still slide into the slots in the body work. I did grab and try to shake it when the pins were installed they fit tight in the 1/4" drilled holes were the bolts went. So far it still appears tgo be nice and tight.

I have had the kit for quite some time and delayed install due to poor instructions. Put mine in today and destroyed the four clips as instructed. I was thinking of leaving the middle clips in as well but figured the idea was to make this quick release and the middle clips are a bear to get out without drilling. I broke the middle ones off and it was okay. The grill seems to be pretty snug with the four clips out. BTW, on my 14 the clips are a combination of plastic and metal. Next I will install a bug screen. Just had a high pressure A/C hose blow on our Suburu Outback due to a bug buildup between the condensor and radiator. I had been cleaning the front of the condenser and blowing air as best I could from behind but when I separated the two, 3/4 of the radiator was blocked with a dead bug mass. Lesson learned...the condensor allows bugs thru but the radiator has smaller fins I guess. Without cooling, it created a high pressure condition that blew the hose.

My pic's and posting is for 2016 2500 Ram's I can't speak to other models and years. I also like the condenser guard with screen and it saved me time and money looking for and fabricating something.

Thanks for the write up. When I tried to do the install, I noticed it was different on my 16 as well so I didn't install them thinking someone will come up with an updated write up. Now, I feel confident that it will work for me as well and I am not the only one seeing the discrepancy.

PTsideshow, how funny I just got through doing this and had the same issues, even called Genos on this as they were not aware of the '16 changes. So my additional info to anyone would be this;
If you do this mod you will still have to have the 10mm socket for the inboard bolts and remove two pushpins, along with the quick release pins. Now in fairness I'm not going to be on the side of the road taking apart my grill, so in the big scheme of things it still only takes a couple minutes to do all this. Is it saving time, no maybe just a step in the process, you're still gonna need to have a supply of push pins for the cooling cowl, eventually,, and if you had not done this mod but took your grill off to clean you would eventually buy the bottom clips of the grill. After installing mine, the bottom of the grill is slightly moveable if I wiggle it, I try not to drive up there and wiggle my grill at the same time as not to be a distracted driver, and the wind probably keeps it fairly secure, it's the Cummins vibration over time that I'll watch. It;s all plastic crap up there The directions should've been updated. If i were thinking about buying one today with this knowledge, I wouldn't, I just don't see how its a big improvement or a time saver.
MJwrench you have a '14 and maybe your clips in the middle interfere, but the '16s didn't, and these are some slight changes to the front ends.

PTslideshow, Thank you for the update. We were not aware of the changes made to new trucks and we apologize for our installation instructions not being up to date.
We will get the installation instructions updated. Do you mind if we use your pictures?
Thanks to TPR021 for the extra notes.
