2017 6.7 Turbo possibly out?

Not sure how to search threads here, but my turbo no longer makes the whining noise. It’s a deleted truck with 123000 miles roughly. Engine brake doesn’t work but truck makes up to 17 psi boost going up hills and running 80 to 85 mph. Otherwise boost is aroun 5-8 psi.

I’m just not sure how to diagnose or what to check first. No codes being sent.

That’s pretty low for boost. Could be a leak. Best way is to pressurize the intake system with shop air. There’s lots of info online here about making a test fitting. You mentioned your ex. brake isn’t working. Has it ever since you had the truck?

You may also want to see if the turbo shaft has any play.

Everything was working fine last week when I drove the truck. My employees took it to a jobsite yesterday, and when they came back said they could not hear the whistling coming out of the exhaust like it normally does.

I've checked the boots on the going to the air to air and they seemed fine. We had a few jobs to do today so I didn't have time to check it out.

Usually the actuator will set a code. Get back to us after you have time to inspect some of the items mentioned.
