Well folks, I did a thing I said I would never do - I bought a brand new truck off the lot. I know my 12 valves like the back of my hand but I don't have time to work on my work truck. I'm so busy it no longer pencils financially to commit time to turning a wrench or paying a mechanic. The least amount of cash out of my pocket was a new one. I bought it from Dave Smith in Idaho. Sean Haller was my salesman. He's brand new so he's slow but he hasn't developed the quirks that some salesman slip into over a lifetime of selling stuff. What comes out of his mouth is unfiltered and true. It was refreshing.
Having said that, DS told me that the high idle function was not available to me because the truck has a six speed manual. Do any of you know of a work around on this? I imagine it's as simple as a programming tweak but I'm in uncharted waters here.
Btw, on the trip home it delivered a little over 19 mpg hand calc'd. It's a nice truck...
Thank you
