I just read on another forum the Cummins forum that there have been reports of the new design drag link failing. One person posted a service report that said the loud clunking was due to a bad drag link. It seems that the passenger end is coming apart. Not staked/ crimped properly. No word if there will be a recall. Hopefully this is a very limited issue. Just thought I would pass this along. Below is a screen shot of the post.

Let me be the first - my 2019 3500 started clunking pretty good in the front end...kind of a popping sound. Was much worse with a heavy trailer on. Finally took it to the dealer and they really couldn't figure it out for quite awhile before the concluded the drag link was bad. Below is the invoice for proof.

ill wait until theres more than one bad part before i make a mountain of a mole hill. i wonder why the owner didnt bother to have a look first. techs are notoriously incompetant

Some people on the Cummins form said that there have been a few failures. They have been posted on the Carli Facebook page. I’m not a Facebook member so I can’t access the posts.
I only pass along this information in hopes of saving one of us some headaches. Right now it appears the failures are very few. I hope that to e the case.

Mines at the dealer now for drag link replacement. Lots of popping under front end.

So is the passenger's just pressed in and then the two crimps applied. I think I will hang onto my original drag link that is in the shed.
