Getting setup for AlphaOBD, need OBD Reader, MX+ or LX?

Software for OBD scanning tools

I did a search for dash mats but didn't see anything. When I looked on Genos the Dashmat Dashcover had 1 review and it was bad. The Carhartt one doesn't have any reviews. I need one for my 2020 that I just bought. I know I need to update my signature, but not sure I'll get rid of my 96. The 2020 is a 3500 with the HO motor and Aisin transmission. However, it's black. Not the color I'd choose for a vehicle, but I've been looking for one of these trucks for a while, and the price was right. I'd like to keep the dash protected as much as possible. I got a sunshade and as soon as my shop is built it'll be out of the sun.

The Dashmat has served me well. It does take a few days to settle down on the dash. Have one in the DW SUV also. Most people don't give it a chance to form back to dash after being rolled up in a box for who knows how long! I let it sit for a few days, then used the Velcro to secure to dash to prevent movement. Hope that this helps with your decision on this matter.

I had an Ultimat in my '18 which I really liked. Tried the regular Dashmat for my '19 Power Wagon and it was ok, except it wasn't cut for the speaker system so I had to MacGyver it. It appears from Geno's catalog they don't make or offer the Ultimat for '20 on up and the Dashmat is also not cut for the speakers. This is a long way of saying that I'm going 'naked' at this point, so not much help for you.

I looked at the regular dashmat and even though it's not cutout for the speaker it's supposedly thinner material that won't interfere with the speaker. That's what it said in one of the descriptions that I read. I think I'll try the Carhartt one and see what happens

Depending on where you live there is no need for a dash mat anymore.
The plastic used today isn't that inferior as it was 30 years ago. Selling the vehicle at almost triple the price gave room for decent materials.

I have the same truck but in Silver. I have a DashMat, Cinder, #2265-00-79 from Covercraft.com.
I like this one because I can attach things with Velcro. Been very satisfied. I spray them with water to get them moist, not wet, to get them to settle onto the dash.

Personally never heard of a 4th gen dash cracking.
I have a 96 and we all know how those dashes are. I was just trying top be proactive. I will say that I've had a dashmat on the 96 every since I got it in 2001 and the dash still cracked. Whether this will help or not I don't know, but it's black and draws a lot of heat.

I agree with the windshield glare!

There is also the stick on velcro that claims to be removable with no left overs. Kind of like command hooks. So if you ever wanted to remove it, you could without damaging the dash with stickiness.
