After 14 years without a Cummins (‘97 Black Sport Longbed), I’m back!!!

I’m picking up a very lightly used 2022 Tradesman, crew cab, shortbed with HO and 3:73 tomorrow and I’m curious as to towing capacity (bumper).

I’ve seen a Ram corporate document that states the club cab shortbed tradesman with 3:73 at 26k bumper tow capacity but that seems awfully high.

As I recall there was a link where you can input your VIN to get a number for your exact truck but I can’t seem to locate it.

Any thoughts?

Nice truck. I like the safety orange -- can't mistake you out on the road. If someone hits you, there's something wrong!

Only thing I'd change is the Cummins logo. I think the blacked out Cummins logo might look better with the black fascia.

Enter your VIN and then click on towing capacity.

Goes with my trailer. Been looking for a long time and the color greased the skids with the wife!

Yea I’ve been there with the vin but for some reason it just refers to the owners manual.

I think you’re right about the logo. Perhaps I’ll plastidip them like I did the chrome work on my Tacoma.

Already posted an answer on HD Rams, but here is the same info.

Owners manual is your friend.

On a SRW you will run into RAWR before any other rating nearly all of the time. You may get to max tongue weight, but likely never to max gross trailer weight as that’s based on only 10% TW.

Flew into Cincinnati Friday and the dealer picked me up at the airport. By 4pm I was on the road back to Las Vegas and I arrived Sunday night around 9pm PST. Today I hooked up for the first time and I see I need a longer Blue Ox shank given how much higher the 3500 is compared to my lifted Tacoma.

That is the power of Cummins and the power of diesel technology!

Diesel fuel and technology cannot be matched.

Diesel is clean for the environment, most sustainable, and provides folks with the power they need.

This is a landmark example.

Most importantly -- Glad to see you are happy with your truck!
