OK, wife needs a new car, we were thinking 4-runner due to reliability but she loves Jeep Cherokee, great interiors and nice AWD system. Now I am re-thinking the 4-runner, maybe the reliability is not as good as it used to be and the Cherokee is much better than they used to be. I know the older ones tend to be plagued with electrical problems. Anyone have experience with both? Never had a Jeep but had a couple of the RAM CTD trucks which we have really liked. Currently have a '97 4-runner built for the desert where we keep it and love it for that, but wouldn't be a daily driver for her at 200,000 miles. She currently has an Acura RDX. I mean it's OK, but poor visibility out the passenger side rear, and the ergonomics suck. None of the buttons or controls make sense compared to the RAM truck. Probably the Jeep Cherokee might be similar layout and controls to a RAM truck, dunno. Anyone have thoughts pro or con on the Cherokee? Probably the middle range model with Quadra-Trac 1 full time AWD. She won't need low range or locking diffs.
