Hi TDR People

Just wanted to toot my horn a little.

I have an 02 HO that has just turned 20K

Without a single defect of any kind. I just put the summer tires and EZ box back on and am getting over 20 miles to the gallon again.

Until purchasing this Dodge I was a die hard Ford guy. I am very happy I made the switch. I have owned 3 new Fords and they all needed there warranty a lot within the first few thousand miles. I love this truck.

Houser :D

Congrats... . my 01 with 30K miles has been to the dealer twince... . once for a reflash to make the engine stop stalling after I put 275's and a DTT transmission in it and the second time when my heated mirrors stoped working. The deale gave me a new headlight assembly to so I could fix my leaky headlight. I don't think that is bad at all.....

12K and never back to the dealer. No problems at all - the only problems I've had are with aftermarket items I've added. :(

Of course, my 1996 V-10 3500 had only two (2) failures in 6 years and 47K miles - the OEM battery and an oil pressure gauge sending unit. :)

Both of these trucks have been used to tow heavy 5th wheels.

I just passed 30k... . and no problems. Bought the truck new and that was the last time it was at the dealer :) Unless its some sort of $$ item or a computer issue... . its not going back! Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself

Way to go, but it's never a bad idea to knock on some wood. I just turned 49,000 miles on my '01 and it's been to the dealer one time for a bad oil psi sending unit. I have also had 3 Fords in the past, and it broke my heart to switch, but it was the best thing I ever did. Good luck!

warranty problems or lack thereof

I have an 01 with 23k on the clock. When it was about 10,000 miles young my lift pump went south and was replaced. I was unhappy about that, but, more than a year later and more than double the miles and the truck has been very good. Except, last week the engine light came on. That turned out to be related to one of my mods and not the fault of the truck. Oh yeah, I will knock on wood because I still have 8 months and 12,000 miles left on the warranty. More over, I would like to not have any trouble for the next ten years. LOL

My 02 has almost 12k and the only problem has been the 6 speed shift indicator buttton started to rotate. Fixed that myself with a couple dabs of silicone as suggested here on the TDR.

36,400+ and NO defects!

I bought mine new and it's never been back. I did have one concern right after I bought it but I fixed it myself. Small oil leak at the turbo oil return line. Just tightened up the clamp. :D

So now I'm considering injectors, but first my stock clutch which is just starting to slip will have to go in leu of a South Bend that will handle what I want to throw at it!

Still on my original set of Michelins but they are wearing a bit faster than they should have in the rear due to a couple of smoke shows now N then. :D

My old '92 was in the shop under warranty for a rear main seal just short of 100k. Only time it has been back to the dealer. Up to the time the injection pump went out at 248k, I had spent less than $1000 on repairs... not counting oil, filters, and tires. The truck is still going and has been AMAZINGLY trouble free!

I have 35k on the '01. 5. Not a single problem! I hope it will be as good as the old '92!

My 02 just turned 20k this week and last night I had my first failure. My wipers wont park themselves anymore. They just stop wherever they are when I turn them off. My only complaint about this truck would be the high idle/cylinder cut out that I had them enable. I can not stand the noise it makes when the cylinders cut out. I wonder if they can turn just the cut out feature off? Otherwise I am very happy with this truck. :)

99 TRUCK

My 99 Truck just turned 61K has never been in the shop. I did think i had a Lift pump going Bad, but i changed the Fuel Filter and the pressure is right up to 13 lbs and running great. This old man is going to try one of those new 03 Quiet jobs after March. That is if i can get a decent price from a Dealer. If i Decide to sell it, it will be Listed on here. Its a great quad cab. . All these guy's talking about there new trucks is getting me excited. I need something low to the ground as i have a Hip Pain a lot and this 4x4 is too high. Besides this truck has a stock motor and never Bombed, I feel like this might just be someones truck that likes to Beef them up a bit. I think that new 2 wheel drive with the Standard output engine would get this old man 2 blocks to the coffee shop . Wouldn't"t it???

Wish I could say the same... I had the clock spring break on my '01 the morning after I brought it home.

At 15K miles I had the dealership attempt to fix the front door alignment since it was rubbing up against the windshield and wearing a hole in the rubber gaskets and wearing off the paint on the door. That still isn't fixed, but it doesn't leak or squeak, so I'm fine with it.

I have a bad track bar and a bad steering intermediate shaft that both need replacing, and the driver's rear door will no longer open. Truck now has 34,6xx miles.

Funny how all the problems I 've had with mine are related to the "Dodge" part... LOL.

I still love this truck more every time I drive it though!

My 2000 with just over 24k has been to the dealer twice since I bought it in October '02. First problem was a transmission cooling line blowing off (at 70 MPH). Second time was a Crankshaft Position Sensor. Now the truck is making a "clunk" out back some where. Just started yesterday. You guys sure are lucky.

I'm happy with mine...

First 50 k zero problems. 52k replaced lift pump cause of low pressure,56k-clutch(my fault)replaced with S-Bend Con-O,60k ball-joints,right side, and track-bar,66k,clutch again, installed 13"Con-O. F. E. (should have done this to begin with ;) ). I'm at 69k now and need ball-joints on the left side. Not bad considering some of the stuff I put it through,truck-pulls,drag racing, winter salt, pulling big loads, running through mud and muck. Ball joints are a problem on all makes anymore. I change S-10 joints every 8-10,000 miles, and I'm doing an f-350 right now with only 37k... . Doug

26,600 miles on my 02' 4x4. Only issue I've seen is that my front axle passenger side looks to seep oil out of the shaft. Nothing major but my truck is running strong. Regularly get 18-19mpg with city/hwy driving on stock tires.

Can't complain about my truck. Only thing needed is a grab handle for the passenger on the headliner and not on the A-pillar.

75,000 trouble free miles. Went in the shop to fix the clock spring recall and I had to replace the front pads last week. I take care of routine maintenance. I am not sure, but I have recently developed some looseness in the front, so I will have to check into that this weekend. The looseness didn't become noticeable till I put the plow on, so I am not sure if something gave under the stress or not.
