Truck is not a daily drive, most of the miles are trips from 300 - 2000miles, about half towing 5er.
Think that is the sweet spot for these trucks. My turbo really went to hell after about a month of short trips around the farm, although as you can see from the start of this thread, it was on its way out for some time.
I did some highway trips, and driving "like I stole it", but that only seemed to "clean things out" for a short period of time. Apparently the old turbo was just all hosed up. I wish I had seen inside it after it came out.
Will have to do an hours versus miles comparison again. Last time I looked that ratio showed my truck as having more highway time, but my driving patterns have changed a bit since then.
Oh, and yes, I am fairly certain now that exhaust braking is better with the replacement unit.
