I've been wanting to put in some 215's but came across where I can get 230's. Don't recall hearing much about these injectors, can anyone shed some light? Tried the search function but you all know how that is  I know I know, before any of you start in on how I should go right for the 370's let me say, I'm actually pretty happy with my power levels right now but the stock 160 injectors suck. Also I can't afford to do the delivery valves AND injectors so 370's are out for me. So how about it, anyone have any info on 230 injectors?

You should call and check with Piers. I believe they are not ideal because of the spray pattern, or spray angle or something like that. Go with 215's, 370's or DD's.

I ran the 370s with my 160 hp pump for a good while.

You have a stumble at 1200rpm, but it is still driveable.

30mph is where it is most noticeable.

I have never heard of the 230 sorry.

When I bought my truck, a friend at Cummins said he had a couple sets of 230s if I wanted to make it run better, so I know they exist. Neither one of us had a clue what was in the future and he talked like the 230s were a big step over the 215s. That's not a big step anymore but it sounds like they are good injectors! At the time, he thought I was crazy to want to turn up a 215 - now he has an ISB with 330hp injectors and got a comp/offroad program from Cummins for his ECM. Craig

Delivery valves are not necessary if you have a 96 or later auto or manual pump. On the 94-95 autos, delivery valves are needed for smooth running with the 370s. Piers told me NOT to install the bigger delivery valves since I didn't want more smoke than I was already making. My truck is 8250 lbs with an empty bed and I tow a lot. If you don't tow much and have a stock weight truck, I would install delivery valves... it would give you a lot more power and with the lighter truck it probably won't smoke more than mine does without it.

In general this is a true statement. However I have seen more than one post to lead me to believe there are some pumps that dont follow this rule. My '97 180 pump for example, did not like 370's at all. Not only stumbled but would make the whole truck buck and jerk at very light throttle. Currently running 215's. --

215s would be a far better choice than 230s. 230s don't work as well.

Perhaps this is why I haven't heard much about them. Can you give me any specifics as to in what way they don't work as well? Too much smoke or egt's?

Joe Donnelly said the driveability and the mpg isn't very good with the 230s and that 215s or the 370s would be a lot nicer.
