I recently ordered new tires and decided I would also like new rims. the only thing im not sure on is what width rim to get. The rims I want come in a 7" wide or 8" wide. I know the factory rims were 6" wide and the rims on my truck are 7".

Would I gain anything buy going to the 8" wide? I know in the future the 8"s would help if I wanted wider tires but other then that im not seeing an advantage. What do all of you think?

Oh keep in mine my truck is 2 wheel drive. So i wont be looking for bigger off road tires any time soon.

I would say maybe just stick with a 7 in wide wheel being 2x there will be no benifit in going to a 8 in wheel . 4x there would be due to being able to go wider on tires .

Alright guys thanks. thats the way i was leaning anyways. I figure any wider of a tire, that would go on a 2 wheel drive truckl, will probably fit on the 7" rim any ways. thanks.

If you've found 8", 8lug wheels, please tell me where. I've been trying for a year to find some that are rated at 3750lbs so I can put 285 tires on the rear of mine.
