Getrag in a 94 and up model.... Can it be done??

24V Engine came with Auto transmission, How hard to convert to manual transmission?

Ok, Here's a new question. Remember the Motorhome Conversion ?

#ad

I found a 24 Valve 5. 9 L Motor. (EBAY)

Only problem is it was orginally hooked to an Auto transmission.

What obstacles do you think I will run into trying to run this with a NV5600 Maunal Transmission?

Will I need a new computer?

Since this will be a Gas Motor to TD conversion am I biting off more than I can chew at one time?

Haven't found a 12 V Motor yet.

But did find a 6 speed manual transmission close by.

A rebuilt 4 sp. Auto transmission for my truck "Complete and Outright" is qouted at $5400. 00

:--)

I have searched the World for a complete donor truck and have had no luck. Somebody is buying the wrecks up and parting them out faster than I can Dial the phone.

I;m still looking an would appreciate some links to solutions and opinion. "Search" didn't reveal enough spefic info.

The Quest Continues!

THanks for the links. I already exhaused the Auctions I knew off... ... ... ... ... .

I think you'll just have to get a new flywheel. The starter may be a little different. ither than that all should be the same.

Auto's come stock w/a Hy35 turbo instead of a Hx35. I wouldn''t worry about that just yet. HX35s and Hx40s aren't very pricy and can be done later.

You should be able to hit your 300hp goal very easily even w/a Hy35 and have no real problems.

Just my opinion but I think a 12valve will make a better conversion. Simpler and you won,t need all those different sensors to get it to run right.

Just one problem.

Here in Texas you have to be a registered Auto Salvage Dealer to bid on these at IAA.

I'm thinking you might be right about the 12 Valve Larry. I won't know until tomorrow if Enterprise will be able to help me out with an engine anytine soon.

Will be going down to Grandbury tonight to see a man about some transmissions.
