24 valve, 6 spd, t-case, swap

i was wondering if it was possible to swap the motor, trans, and t-case from a 2002 into a first gen. or, at least swap the motor and trans, t-case is dependant on which is a better case.



if it is possible, what is required?



which t-case is stronger?



btw, the first gen is a 5sp getrag, if that matters

If you look at the front diff. you will see that the driveshaft is on the drivers side on the 02 and pass side on first gen. Might want to keep the 205 case. Other than that it might be do able. Don't convert to a p pump.

The engine and transmission are simple to put in place. The first gen motor mounts fit the 02 motor. The fan mount from the first gen fits on the 02. If you don't swap, the fan will hit the shroud. Swap the intercooler while your at it. It fits upside down if you cut enough metal out of the way. You have to use the 02 clutch hydraulic assy. It will fit in place of the first gen one. You will have to make a new crossmember for the transmission. also Shorten the rear drive shaft and lenghthen the front if it has a 6 speed. Piece of cake. I don't know what the electrical is like because I couldn't find anyone that knew how to do it. So we converted to mechanical injection. That's another page I won't get into.

I'm told it's real easy to make the 2002 engine work in a primative truck like ours so long as you're not going to the auto transmission. Lots of guys have done it & the rest of the modifications are just the same as adding a 6 speed to your present engine.

I'm curious why Ron says no P7100 pump? Why you no likey?

I really love mine for the power... just don't like the governor bounce but I suspect that's more stupid pump quirk than a P7100 quirk... know what I mean?

I like the pump. But it is a pricey way to make hp. Your truck looks super.
