Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 24 valve adjustment.

Could someone tell me where to get the information on adjusting a 24 valve? I read in issue 29 how to do a 12 valve. Is it the same as doing a 12 vavle but just twice as many valves?



I would appreciate the help.

The service/shop manual has the procedure for doing this. I'll see if I can attache the three pages.



BTW, there are only 12 to adjust. There is a bridge that connects the two intakes and one for the two exhaust.

I read the link that DeiselMinded posted and it shows a TQ spec for the locknut @ 18ft/lb. The link looked like a 12 valve engine. Is this 18 ft/lb TQ spec the same for a 24 valve engine??

Thank you Kevin. I didn't think it would be all that bad but I have never seen the inside of the cummins. I have adjusted valves on gassers before but never diesel. I just thought there might be somethings to watch out for. I will give it a shot. Thanks for the pages out of the manual.
