I got mine from Haisley's, which is the same as the Scheid version. $425 for a regrind, no tappets. So far, so good. Smoke is down, egt's are down, and a bit more throttle response. Not a huge change, but it is noticeable.
To me the hardest part of the swap would have been the tappets, but Van said with my mileage (75k), as long as the cam looked good I shouldn't need them. Having slightly worn tappets vs. dropping one into the oilpan was worth it to me. It is a bit unnerving to have the tappets suspended in the block by dowel rods and rubberbands while the cam is out, but everything worked out okay.
Get the engine to TDC, then, the valve cover comes off, rockers and pushrods are removed, dowel rods are stuck in place of the pushrods and rubberbanded together to suspend the lifters, remove the bumper, radiator, intercooler, fan assy, lower pulley, and gear cover, and voila, there's the cam. Remove the two bolts on the retainer and the cam slides right out. The only soft bearing you really need to worry about is the one on the front of the engine (since that's the only one). I paid the $15 to get the gear pressed off of the old cam and on to the new (I tried the oven trick and it didn't work for me). Swap out the tappets if you're going to (a tedious process, and if you drop one in the oil pan you need to lift the motor to get the pan off). Smear the cam with a good assembly lube and button 'er back up.
A lengthy job, but not really that bad. I highly recommend the factory service manual for this one (even for the torque specs alone).
