My uncle had a shop put the P7100 pump on a rebuilt 24 valve engine to replace his '98 12 valve that scored a piston or something. Anyway he had some questions he wanted me to ask. I guess they set his timing to 18. 5 so he wanted to know if that was ok or not. I know for a 12 valve that is kinda high for a truck that toes heavy a lot. He also wanted to know injector pop-off pressures for the two engines. I have the books but they are at home so I can't look it up as I'm out on the road. He says it drives fine and has power but has not been able to check mileage yet. Also what are the cam differenences if any other then lift pump lobe? They put the 12 valve cam in so it would run the lift pump (could have just put on an eletric pump).

Thanks - Mark

16 deg works well for a daily driver. Pop offs on 24 are usually 305 bars. For the p-pump conversion 260 usually works good. I have a PDR 12 valve grind in my conversion. It seems to work well.
