I called on the Gilly's t-case saver, and I was told there is not one to fit my case. I have the New Process Gear 241 DHD and it has a 32 spline output shaft in my 1995. Has anyone installed a t-case saver on this model t-case? I have the truck all apart to install my new HTS transmission, and it would be a 5 minute job at this point to install the collar in place of the snap ring if I can find one to fit.

Thanks in advance

The KDP is in the process of being KILLED via the tab method. :)

Broke a snap ring in my 95' NP 241 DHD twice while it was under warrenty. Then had to rebuild it my self about 50,000 miles later do to some bent forks probably cause by the snap ring. Friend of mine had same problem in his 98' DHD.

bummer :( I'm a 4x4 newb, so I don't really understand what's going on in there, I'm just going off what Quad told me... and no, I wouldn't be surprised if they told me their was no issue because they don't OFFER a fix :( :( :(

So far I've had no problems with snap ring for around 180,000 miles. I did put a new one on when I installed the GV overdrive and when I rebuilt the TC. The rebuild cost me $350 and I did it myself. Wasn't much to it except when putting the halves together and trying to keep everything lined up.

I am thinking I will get one machined up just to be safe and install it. It will never be a problem till you are hundreds of miles from home, or you really need your truck.

They make 2 DHD's, one of them has the issue we are talking about. The BIG output shaft DHD doesn't. Just cause your transfer case has a PTOp cover, doesn't mean it is the BIG shaft DHD.

I also had the snap ring break on my 241 DHD. Basically destroyed the transfer case. One of the gears walked and took out alomost all of the other parts except the case and one of the shafts.
