Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 241 DHD Transfer Case ?

Will a 241 DHD T-Case from a 2001 work in my 1997?

i belive you will lose your speedo sensor i belive 98-01 moved the sensor to the rear axle and the 97 had a gear driven from the t-case housing

I put a late model DHD in my 94. the case was cast with a spot for the speedo just not machined. I just pulled the tail housing used a hole saw 1/8" smaller and than used a die grinder with a 1" burr very carefully. I also had to tap the speedo mount. four months and not a drip

Thanks. I might just change the input gear in mine to match the manual that I'm installing.
