241 HD adaptor to divorce?

Tried searching didn't come up with anything, maybe I'm not using the proper term.



Anyway, working on a project to go to a medium duty standard transmission, undetermined make yet.

Decided a yoke on front of the 241 HD would be simpler, divorce the unit from

the trans, make a short drive shaft and call it good, rather than trying to build an adapter to the transmission.



Any ideas where to look?

I really think you would be better off buying a divorced NP205. They were available in both driver and passenger side drop in factory divorced configuration. Around here, you can find a divorced NP205 for $100-$250.

The way I see it, by the time you make the 241 work, you'll have more money and effort tied up in it than just getting a new case. My concerns about the divorced 241:

1. It never (to my knowledge) came in a factory divorced configuration so you'll be buying/making 1 of a kind parts.

2. The realy weakness of the 241 is the aluminum case. I would be worried about having the proper support without overstressing the mounting points on the case itself.

I think you are right.
