Need help guys. Was driving home today,and all of a sudden the truck seemed it was not in gear. It was in 6th gear. I lost 2high,4high. It will only drive in 4 low. I can play with shifter on the transfer case and get it into 2 low. It should not do this, I do not have CAD. What shouyld I do?:confused::mad::{

It's a possibility the clutch is dead. When in 4lo step on the brake and see what happens, if it stops or powers the engine down.

There is a snap ring that holds the output shaft in place. If that snap ring comes off or brakes (241's do this) the output shaft will move forward and you will loose the gears. Take the drive shaft out. The transfer case output shaft should be sticking out of the tail case about 1/4 inch if so then see if you can move the output shaft in and out it should not move more then 3/16 of an inch. If the snap ring is broken the shaft will move about an inch or so. Put the transmission in neutral when doing this. If the snap is broken the transfer case will need to be rebuilt.

I do not think it has a pump like GM. I could be wrong though. I drove it 25 miles home. I hope it did not hurt it.

I know the 241 HD has a pump I replaced mine. It is driven off the shaft so I think he is right it will nut pump if push forward far enough to come off the shaft splines.
