2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 241LD to HD swap??

Truck has a broken NV241DLD. When i replace it, i was wondering if a NV241HD would work with no modification. Is the only difference between LD and HD the PTO cover??

I am guessing the t case was messed up pretty good?



The 241 HD has a wider chain, so it will support more power, and has the pto cover.



I think you will be able to get a 271 case for less $$$ then the 241HD. The 271 is stronger then the 241, but will take a little fabing to get it to fit. BigBadDodge has a post somewhere on here about the 241dld to 271 swap he did.
