24v engine dies for one cycle

Help Please, '01 - 3500 - 6 speed. The engine seems to stop/lose power for an instant. No warning or after effect. Slow and high speed, this has happened 5 times. I have retrieved the codes - P-PCU and P-ECU, I do not have a code list to know what they mean. If anyone can help with this I would very much appreciate it. I am to take it in next week for the clockspring recall.

ADDITON:

The power drops off and before I can check gauges to see what happened the power comes back. It is only for an instant in time.

Does it completely shut off, or does it just go down to idle? If it is just going down to idle, it is more than likely the APPS. That's about a $300 part... Warranty will cover it. Keep us posted.

I have heard of this happening to others. I test drove a 2001 ETH/DEE that did it. It is best described as a "miss", the engine just seems to lose fuel injection for a split second. No idea why/what causes it but you arent alone and it never seems to hurt anything.

Cycle the key again and look for P0500 As most of the trucks that have this condition the Ecm is losing contact with the Vehicle Speed Sensor. causing a split seccond shutdown being the comp has no idea how fast it is traveling. Mine does it every now and again.

My truck has done that too, four times total. The last time was last summer. I have no idea what it is, sort of unnerving, but does not seem to hurt anything.

My 99 has done the same thing several times over the years and i do not even have a clue of what causes it. It is just like cycling the ignition switch. Once it happened while pulling out across traffic. Pretty scary when your watching the front end of someones vehicle heading for your drivers side door, not to mention the other vehicle looking at your passenger door. The biggest fear is that this will happen again. Try explaining to the insurance company that my truck is a sandwich because it hiccupped pulling away from a stop sign probably will not go over very well.
