I'm not sure if something like this has already been done and if it has, my apologies. I think it would be beneficial to new members and those that don't regularly browse the forums to make a list of the most common problems our trucks have so we can do some preventive maintenance to keep them from costing us a bunch of money that could have been saved.
I'm aware of the lift pump problem and using this forum helped make me aware of it. I've installed one on my truck (99' 2500 w/ 63k mi. ) about 30k mi ago and have been running 12psi at idle and no lower than 8psi any other time. Also, I just became aware of their being an issue with the rear wheel speed sensor, but not sure exactly what problems it will cause.
I think a list of things that a new owner, that doesn't mind getting dirty, should spend a day looking over on their truck. Things like the FP, intercooler/turbo hose clamps, IAT, etc.
