Friends, Romans, and fellow dodge owners. I have a most perplexing question. After my many problems with the "transfer" pump and the silent replacement of the VP44, I went to check the oil and noticed that the handle had broken been broken off during the multiple pump replacements (3 transfer and 1 VP44 in 2 months). Not wanting to deal with them (aka dealer) again, I went and ordered one from the parts department ($11 w/ tax). I was able to get the old one out, but the new one fill not go in. It stops about a foot from the being fully in. I set the two side by side and they are the same length, same marks, but no twisty turns and no rivets. Any ideas on how to fix this????? Please help me, I don't want to go back and talk to the bad people again. :{ :{ :{

is the new handle this shape?

#ad

the 98. 5 -99 were a different style with no twistys and no bends

Nope, but I'll be talking to you later about a set of caps. I saw everything else, while doing a search. It looks like the same type handle as my old one had, as best as I can remember.

UMMmmm, dunno how working on the handle will "fix" it, when he states the problem is:

He's saying to just put the new T on the old dipstick. The only thing thats broken on the old one is the T. Read it again and it'll make sense. Jake

Guys, thanks. That is what I was kinda thinking about doing. Any idea why the new one don't want to play nice? Oh well, it gives me a good reason to get some new things for under the hood.

Mine broke on my 99 also. The dealer wanted an outrageos price, so I got one from a Cummins dealer, at a fraction of the price
