I just finished the P Pump swap on my 02. I put the FASS 150 it and the vp does like real fuel psi. The Truck runs great @ 13 deg timing. Im going up more. low 20's

I have no power coming from my stock fuel pump connector for my FASS, went to the battery w/ switch for now. No Tach, fuel guage work but seems to have isses. Alt's not charging. Im thinking ECM, or even more likely the Cam position sensor installed 180 off? Or is it that the 02 has no groove in the Cam Gear? Or does it? Its coming back apart this morning. Please any adice im greatly appreciated.

codes 1689, 1693 I have these writen down. the codes Im getting seem normal codes for a p pump swap eccept the transfer pump cuicut out of range

Edge attitude (for gauges now)

Check the main 140amp fuse and the alternator fuse. Remove the battery cables and clean the terminals. While doing this I would suggest leaving the batteries disconnected for an hour with the headlight switch on. This will drain and reset the PCM.

Make sure the 3 connectors on the fire wall are connected good. I would suggest disconnecting them and reconnecting them, don't just look at them.

Also, make sure the cam sensor is plugged in and no wiring damage. With the swap there was a lot going on around it.

24v P Pump, no Tach, not charging

Thanks!!

The truck is clean and all the electrical connectors are clean. I am going to swap around some relays just to check them. Any idea why the Tach and RPM's are not working? Also having issues with the oil pressure guage not working and the alternator is not charging? I am not getting power to the stock transfer pump wire.

We reset the ECM just like you said and it gave me codes 230, 521 and 1689.

I looked them up and knew I was going to get the 1689 code.

thanks again...

I had the same issue when I did my engine swap. It was intermittent. No charge, transmission was in limp mode, fuel gauge didn't work. I first found the main fuse blown. Replaced it and all was good. Adjusted the idle on my injector pump and it did it again. Finally had my daughter sit in the truck and watch the fuel gauge. I started pulling on wiring harnesses, HARD. Finally she hollered at me. I was pulling on the 3 connectors I told you to check. The bottom one was together but not latched making intermittent contact. When I was adjusting the idle my arm would bump it. Snapped that baby in and all's been good since.

My tach always worked, though. It works off a crank sensor, though. I suspect there is an issue with you cam sensor signal. That would keep the tach from working. If there is no cam signal the PCM doesn't know the engines running and will not turn the alternator on.

Check those 3 connectors like I said and triple check your cam sensor and wiring.
