Who brings their own lunch to work?? (Non-Political Thread)

Reason #76,081 why I live in Texas! The good news is that you don't have to go to work tomorrow (I hope!).

When owner operator YEARS AGO I hated Texas weather in the winter to DAMN unpredictable sitting in a truck stop for days because of ice storms wasn't real fun. Id rather head to the north where the snow allowed some travel albeit slow

I agree. In the early 90's I spent the night in Amarillo with 6 horse trailers, picked up in Madill, OK. Light rain all day, then woke up to 2" of snow and so cold the Ford gelled up, the '91 Dodge was okay. Then the 3 trailers that were on the ground, 2 behind the Dodge and 1 behind my gooseneck all got sand blasted from the sandy slushy snow on the road. The dealer was mad at me because he had to touch up the paint.....

You hauled out of CM, Nick? I went right by their plant on US70 on my last trip to Coleman.

Yes, WW was next door. I don't know if it was just me or what, but I was uncomfortable at the plant. They were very unfriendly, almost cultish:(

Oh look, it’s snowing again..

I wont mind it so bad when we get back down to one place to tend....and when I don't have to commute in it any longer...

Spent all morning Saturday cleaning up at the lake from the Friday storm, then all Sunday afternoon cleaning up at the new place...now we do it again tonight and tomorrow night.....that gets old quick..

We'er in Seeley Lake MT right now house sitting for our Nephew, If not for his heated cab Kubota tractor with a blade & snow blower I don't think I could take it now that I've joined the Geriatrics's Group. Greencastle IN is about my limit on 4 Seasons.

Mike,
Be prepared for the weekend again! The weather guys are saying we are to get around 3" in Chicago on Wednesday night into Thursday morning. This only has one way to go, east. Thursday morning the low should be around 0F +/- 2F depending on who you listen too, this is actual not wind chill!

Going home tomorrow better tell some of the family to toss a few more logs into the wood boiler for me :D

Don't hate on TX weather. Which other state lets you enjoy more than one season without crossing the state line? Tonight's forecast in Amarillo 26 degrees 80% chance of snow. Here in central TX 41 with light rain, Zapata where I'll be in six days for a fishing trip 88 now with a low of 62. Three seasons almost daily here in Feb.

I see two seasons at best.
26* is NOT winter o_O:p

Maybe in Texas Gary. Other places get snow through 3 or even 4 seasons.
It will occasionally rain here at that temp (notice the title of the thread?)

We occasionally get freezing rain here too. A few years ago it snowed here in Killeen on Easter Sunday. The calendar says spring, the snow says winter.

My Military experience in TX was Wichita Falls, Shepard AFB & of course San Antonio Lackland AFB, I don't think we need to delve into anymore on that subject. My trucking experience was Port Arthur where on Wednesday nights was Ladies Night at the Wagon Wheel Saloon, Asking the GUY next to me at the bar one Wednesday night what time do the ladies start to get here? SHE ASKED ME IF I WAS SOME KIND OF SMART XXX or something. I don't like states that took 2 days of my log book to cross and still had to take a nap before crossing into New Mexico so the logs could catch up to me. Other than that the unbebarble summer heat WITH HUMIDITY in places for an added bonus, tornados, flash floods, dust storms and the aformentioned occasional ice IT WASN'T A BAD PLACE TO BE FROM!!
